I still can’t get over the good fortune of New Yorkers to have Tift Merritt now living here. This Friday’s show at Union Hall will make three Tift shows in the past two and half months. The show is sold out, but the Union Hall website indicates that there will be a limited number of tickets available at the door. Now if only all my other favorite artists would relocate to New York, my previous thoughts could be done away with.
[Update: For those of you who don’t have the exhaustive Tift Merritt cataloge, the title of the post is also the title of her live album released a while back. Not as careful as the studio albums (which I believe were recorded “live” as in not on separate tracks at separate times) but nice nonetheless. It definitely captures her live energy (like when I first heard “Tambourine” live and when oh!) and is what I expect to get more of tomorrow.]
